    • Older Preschoolers: Must be at least 3.0 years old and potty trained. The maximum age for enrollment is 5 years old.
  2. Required Documentation: A completed Physician’s Report, immunization records, and all required application forms must be submitted to the office before or on the first day of school. No exceptions.
  3. Readiness for Group Learning: Each child must be prepared for the structured group experience offered by the program and able to benefit from it.

Waiting List Policy

Priority admission is given to:

  • Children of Chibi Chan and JCYC staff and affiliates
  • Siblings of current or past students
  • Families who have participated in JCYC programs
  • Families affiliated with Rose Court and Booker T Washington Community Service Center (BTWCSC)
  • Teachers, non-profit employees, and single-parent families

Waitlist Guidelines:

  1. Joining the Waitlist:
    • A child may be placed on the waitlist only after submitting a completed Enrollment Application Form, a signed acknowledgment of Admission Procedures & Waitlist Policies, and a $100 non-refundable application fee (check payable to “JCYC” or cash) to the Site Director.
    • Waitlist positions are not transferable between children.
  2. Admission Offers:
    • If an offer of admission is declined, the application may remain on the waitlist for future openings.
    • After declining two offers, the child will be removed from the waitlist, requiring a new application and deposit for re-enrollment eligibility.
  3. No Guaranteed Placement:
    • Being on the waitlist does not guarantee a spot in the preschool.
    • The Director will notify families if and when a space becomes available.
  4. Notification Process:
    • The Director will attempt to contact families between January and February of the intended school year (for Fall enrollment).
    • If there is no response after two attempts, the application will be removed from the waitlist.
  5. Acceptance Process:
    • Accepted families will receive a confirmation call and letter, along with an enrollment packet.
  6. Securing Enrollment Before Age 2:
    • If a child is accepted but does not turn 2 years old by the first day of school, parents must pay full tuition for the months before the child turns 2 to secure the spot.
    • Example: If a child turns 2 on October 31st, tuition for August (partial), September, and October must be paid.
    • Payment flexibility may be available based on financial needs; please consult the Director.
  7. Extended Waitlist Option:
    • If a spot is unavailable due to a long waitlist, families may choose to remain on the waitlist for future consideration.
